Shark Helmets has teamed up with the renowned custom bike builder and designer, Troy Lee Designs for a new range of stealthy-looking lids.
The newly designed range of lids has come about thanks to Shark and Troy Lee Designs both residing with the 2Ride group, which also incorporates Nolan, Segura, and Bering, among others. The collection is said to blend Shark’s ‘aero-focused protective technologies … with Troy Lee Designs’ avant-garde, innovative and disruptive style’, according to the press release.
Both the Spartan RS and Spartan GT Pro have been given the TLD treatment, with the RS gaining the Raceshop design which is inspired by a chequered flag, while the GT Pro gets Flagstaff, an unashamedly all-America affair available in either glossy white, red and blue, or a matte Black Anthracite Silver variant. The RS is available in traditional black and white or black and silver anthracite and prices start from £399.99. Both versions of the GT Pro come in at £469.99.
The Skwal i3 and D-Skwal 3 are the next to get a visual refresh, with the Skwal i3 now available in two US flag designs in either red white and blue or silver and black, and each option costs £309.99. The D-Skwal 3 gains a futuristic Drone design, and riders can choose from a glossy black helmet with white accents, a glossy silver helmet with black accents or a matte black with silver accents. The TLD D-Skwal 3 has an RRP of £239.99.
Sharks entry level helmet hasn’t being forgotten either, with the Ridill 2 available in either Apex or Matrix Camo for this year. You can choose between glossy White/Silver/Red or a mat black with green accents for the Matrix Camo and for the Apex there is the choice of black, white, blue or silver, black, and orange. Both TLD Ridill 2 creations have an RRP of £179.99.
The founder of Troy Lee Designs, obviously called Troy Lee, said:
“My design philosophy is to try to make things look fast. If we can make it look fast sitting still, then it looks really cool on the track. Everything I do, I try to tell a story of where it came from and why we’re doing it. It’s been about a year now since we partnered with SHARK and it has been a dream of mine to get in the street market. I’ve been painting street helmets for a long time and I think we’re just getting the wheels started here. We’re going to do some really cool stuff including this new collection that we’ve been working on for the last year.”
