New accessories have been announced by SW-Motech for the Ducati DesertX adventure bike.
SW-Motech’s new crash protection accessories for the Ducati DesertX follow on from the brand’s tank bag for the Italian adventure bike, which launched in early-2023.
Additionally, it puts SW-Motech in direct competition with Wunderlich, who launched a whole host of add-ons, including crash protection, for the DesertX earlier this year.
At the top of the SW-Motech Ducati DesertX crash protection list is the Upper Crash Bar (£198.72), which is made from powder-coated steel tubing, and protects the vulnerable fairing panels, lower section of the fuel tank and the upper part of the engine. Additionally, multiple mounting points means impact forces are spread.
Next up is the Engine Guard (£293.76), protecting the sump, front cylinder casings and exhaust header. The engine guard is a 4mm-thick aluminium plate, and attaches via existing mounts, while a recess is also featured for the oil drain plug.
Third, we have the Front Axle Sliders (£147.95), which feature a reinforced core and replaceable polypropylene shells.
The Water Pump Protector (£94.96) is CNC-milled from anodised aluminium alloy, and, like the aforementioned Engine Guard, fits to existing mounting points on the bike.
Like the Upper Crash Bar, the Centre Stand (£211.68) from SW-Motech for the Ducati DesertX is made of powder-coated steel tubes. It also features an outrigger “for easy operation,” an SW-Motech press release reads.
Finally, we have the Sidestand Foot Extender (£54.95), which is CNC-milled from anodised aluminium alloy and stainless steel.
