Paul Jordan will lead the Supertwin field down Bray Hill at this year’s Isle of Man TT, as he doubles up on #1 plates.
Jordan was named as the first-starting rider for the 2024 Supersport TTs last week, and now has been confirmed as carrying his second #1 plate for the year in the Supertwin class for the Stop & Seal Rev2Race team and their Yamaha R7.
It was a Yamaha R7 which won last year’s second Supertwin race in the hands of Peter Hickman, who will start 10th on his own PHR Performance machine once again. Josh Brookes, Jordan’s Stop & Seal Rev2Race teammate, in seventh, and Michael Rutter, starting fourth on the Batham Ales-backed R7, make it four Yamahas in the top 10 places.
There are two Kawasakis in the top 10, first the KTS Racing powered by Steadplan Ninja 650 of Jamie Coward at the #2 position, and secondly Davey Todd on the Dafabet Racing machine.
The remaining four top 10 places are filled by Patons: VAS Engine’s Pierre Yves Bian in third, Rob Hodson in fifth for SMT Racing, Michael Dunlop sixth for his own MD Racing setup, and finally Dominic Herbertson in ninth for the Burrows Engineering by RK Racing team.
Gary Johnson, on the second Dafabet Racing Kawasaki, will start 11th, ahead of Stefano Bonetti on the second VAS Engine Paton in 12th, and Lee Johnston on the Ashcourt Racing Aprilia RS 660 in 13th.
Mike Browne and Victor Lopez have been given the 14th and 15th starting positions, respectively, but neither have their team/sponsor or motorcycle confirmed yet, and neither do Joey Thompson (17th) or James Hind (19th).
Joe Yeardsley will take 16th place on a Paton for Team ILR by Frog Vehicle Developments, Barry Furber will by 18th on a Yamaha R7 for DC Autos Newton, and Michael Evans rounds out the top 20 on a Kawasaki for Golden Site Solutions Ltd.
