The Orcal Vorei 125 is the third 125cc scooter from the French manufacturer, Orcal, and aims to prioritise practicality and functionality.
Those priorities are summarised by Orcal, which describes the Vorei 125 as “easy to drive, manoeuvrable and has a comfort that avoids all the fatigue inherent in driving a 2-wheeler.”
Until now, Orcal’s scooter range has largely focused on the 50cc scooter market, with models such as the Isca, Kite, and Cavarro. But, with the Vorei, Orcal adds to its 125cc scooter range, with the Vorei going alongside the existing retro-styled Isca and sportier Arios+.
Orcal’s 125cc motor leaves little on the table, with 15bhp (10.7kW) and 9.2lb ft (12.5Nm) claimed as its maximum outputs. The four-valve engine also features an SOHC layout, liquid cooling, and Bosch fuel injection.
Orcal says the Vorei 125 drinks fuel at the rate of 2.2 litres per kilometre, meaning it will drain its nine-litre tank in around 409km, or 254 miles.
Moving from the engine to the chassis, we find a tubular steel frame supported by a 35mm telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks with separate cylinders.
A single 260mm front brake disc is positioned at the front with a dual-piston calliper, while a single-piston calliper operates on a 240mm disc at the rear. Dual channel ABS assists with braking operation, supplied by Bosch.
The wheels are 14 inches at both ends, separated themselves by a wheelbase of 1,343mm. Lighting is full-LED, and the seat height is 775mm.
Other features of the Vorei 125 include an LCD dashboard, smart key, USB port and 12V socket, side and centre kickstands, and a lockable glove compartment.
Unfortunately for everyone not in France, the Orcal Vorei 125 is only set to be marketed in the brand's home market, where it will be available in two colours - ‘matte black’ and ‘matte blue’ - and priced at €3,990, or around £3,500 at time of writing.
