CARL Fogarty, the four-times Superbike World Champion, will be in Knockhill along with Ducati and Lamborghini on 15 May (that’s this upcoming Sunday at time of writing) for a day of riding at Knockhill in Scotland.
Fogarty will be in Knockhill offering both pillion rides around the Fife track, as well as the chance to ride alongside him yourself. He will not be the only racer present, as both ex-road racer Ian Simpson and former World Supersport ace Iain Macpherson will also be there.
“The fun and activities extend far beyond the track too with something going on throughout the day for all the family to enjoy,” Ducati says. This will include displays by Lamborghini Edinburgh (the event itself is put on by Ducati Glasgow, which is a part of the Ducati Manchester Group), as well as stunt shows, mini moto sessions and a prize raffle.
Additionally, there will be the chance to test ride some of Ducati’s current offerings. There are no specifics on what bikes might be available to test from Ducati, but the location of the event might suggest that some of their more track-based bikes - like the Panigale V4 or V2 - could be available. Knockhill is quite a unique circuit even just in its standard configuration and direction. But, furthermore, the circuit also has a rallycross layout, and can be ridden perfectly well also in reverse. Ducati are taking advantage of both of these on 15 May, by offering Multistrada and Monster owners the chance to ride their bikes on Knockhill’s shale, as well as the opportunity to ride the circuit in the opposite direction to what we see the British Superbike riders run, as part of Ducati-only track day sessions.
Finally, Ducati will be offering off-road E-Bike sessions during the event. Of course, Ducati has recently released its own E-Bike range, including the MIG-S mountain bike and TK-01RR enduro.
