After only 72 hours, the Lego Kawasaki Ninja H2R has sold out on the official Lego website, although back orders are open. If you’re happy to shop around, we’ve also seen some availability at third-party retailers.
Announced earlier this year, the Lego kit for the Kawasaki Ninja H2R brings the supercharged hyperbike into the hands of kids aged 10 years and over. It has clearly proved to be a popular kit, given how quickly it sold out.
At the time of writing, the expected latest shipping date on the Lego website was 11 March. The price remains unchanged at £69.99.
The H2 kit follows on from the Ducati Panigale V4, BMW M 1000 RR, Yamaha MT-10, and the Vespa 125 kits all released by the Danish brand in the last few years. The 1/8th scale kit contains 643 parts and includes authentic features such as functional steering and suspension, a two-speed gearbox, a four-piston articulated engine and a supercharger.
Designed for children (and adults) ten years and up, the model also includes Kawasaki- and H2-branded stickers and the trademark green decals on the fairing and winglets just like the full-sized bike.
The model is built from Lego’s Technic sub-brand, although it’s one of the more simple-to-build kits out of the motorcycle series. While the BMW M 1000 RR and Yamaha MT-10 kits both contain nearly 2,000 and 1,500 pieces respectively, the much more modest 643 of the Kawasaki should make this a slightly easier, and less time-consuming, kit to complete. And should you need a little more help completing the H2 model, the model is compatible with Lego’s Builder app, where builders can zoom in and rotate models in 3D, track their progress and save sets as they develop new skills. So there really is no excuse to be leaving this project unfinished on a shelf.
