After 24 hours, two flights, several taxis and a bus, we’re in Kruger National Park, South Africa to test Pirelli’s latest sports tyre.
The Diablo Rosso Corsa II has been designed to meet the needs of those who want the practicalities of a fast warm-up and consistent wet weather performance, but also want to stuff their greedy faces with this freshly made Italian cake and enjoy loads of lean angle and racetrack levels of grip too.
So far we’ve been out for a blast on some fast bumpy roads in a mix of conditions from warm and dry to wet and greasy. So far so good too, with great feel from both the Suzuki GSX-1000S and the Yamaha MT-09 that we used for the two-part road ride.
Tomorrow (after another flight…) we’re off to the recently revamped and resurfaced Kyalami to try the tyres on sportsbikes in properly controlled conditions. We’ll have more then along with a full report and technical geekery later in the week.
