CAN-AM might be well known for producing funky three-wheelers and reverse trikes, but what you might not know is that the firm has previously produced two-wheeled machines specifically for the off-road sector.
And it’s a case of history repeating itself, as in the not-too-distant future a new dual-sport ADV bike will be landing from Can-Am, and the company has just released a teaser video showing it in action.

There are two bikes in the range, Origin and Pulse. Respectively, one for adventure riding, and the other for taking it to the streets and this teaser only features the adventure bike - we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for a teaser on the other machine.
Tech specs are not yet fully known, but what we can tell you is that the Origin looks to come equipped with an adventure-ready 21/17-inch wheelset, long-travel suspension, and a single-sided swingarm which holds the electric motors drivetrain. Yep, you read that right, the two Can-Ams are electric motorcycles - not the screaming two-strokes the brand was famous for in the 70s and 80s!
The Pulse also features much of the chassis, motor, and battery technology as found on the Origin, although on this bike the suspension is shorter and more road-focused, and designed for inner-city commuting and shorter rides.
With the finer details of the two bikes still unknown, we can’t yet tell if the Origin features a larger battery (to provide more range for off-road riding) than its road-biased sibling, and other specs and features like power output, peak torque and recharging times are still not clear. We might not have to wait long to find out, though, as both bikes are slated for a 2024 model launch, meaning a full reveal could happen this autumn.
