The Caberg Drift Evo II motorcycle helmet has been launched with one particular piece of safety technology that could save a rider post-crash.
The Drift Evo II replaces the Drift Evo (fairly obviously) as Caberg’s flagship sports-touring helmet in 2024, sporting a full-face design.
Headlining the feature list on the new Caberg is the SOS Medical ID system, which can detect when a crash has happened, and can transmit the “exact accident location,” Caberg says, to the rider’s pre-saved emergency contact list via text message. This means that if a rider falls and is unconscious, people can still be informed that a crash has happened and the rider can still be reached. In addition to emergency contact information, the system can hold the rider’s medical and personal information, which can help ensure “prompt and precise medical assistance when needed,” Caberg says.
The helmet’s construction features a fibreglass shell with four front air intakes - two on the chin, two on the top of the shell - as well as four upper exhaust vents at the rear. The visor is anti-scratch and features a fog-resistant Pinlock Max Vision 70 lens as well as a quick-release system and a central locking mechanism. A Double Visor Tech (DVT) sun visor is also included and is operated via a lever on the left side of the helmet that is designed to be usable while wearing gloves.
The Drift Evo II is also compatible with the Caberg Pro Speak Evo intercom system and features a removable, washable interior liner.
The Caberg Drift Evo II is available in either a plain black and white scheme for £259.99, or in a variety of graphic options for £299.99, both in sizes XS-XXL.
