Blending comfort and style, this is a quality pair of boots that can be worn on and off the bike
We all need a decent pair of boots when on a bike. Not just to protect your feet and ankles if the worst happens and you come off, but also to stop dirt and spray soaking through to your feet. Once that cold gets in your bones, it's hard to shake.
It was Paolo Nutini who sang “Hey, I put some new shoes on, And suddenly everything is right”. And when I put on these TCX boots, everything was suddenly all right. And as someone who can appreciate a good pair of boots, these are a quality pair.
As a commuter rider, I need kit that can be worn on and off the bike without discomfort. I wore these boots for 12 straight hours, including spending over an hour walking in them, and these are as comfortable as a pair of Doc Martens or Rocket Dogs. They didn’t rub or slip, and the laces stayed done up whilst riding. These boots are also grippy on greasy roads and inconvenient petrol spills on a station forecourt.
Luckily, I haven’t been able to test out the ankle protection during a spill, but I can feel the reinforcements but is still subtle enough that I’m not walking around looking like I have a growth.
We all know waterproof can mean a wide variety of things, but I tried these waterproof boots out in the rain and my feet didn’t get wet. These are also lightweight, versatile and go well with my personal style. I dress like a 13-year-old boy, but these could be dressed up off the bike for a smart/casual style for the office.
When a rider thinks of a pair of good quality boots, they think TCX, and once again the company has knocked it out of the park.
