MotoGP and WorldSBK will continue to visit the TT Assen circuit until at least 2031, thanks to a new deal signed between the Dutch circuit and Dorna Sports.
Dorna, the commercial rights holder to both MotoGP and WorldSBK, has been working with Assen since 1992 when it took over the Grand Prix series. Its series have raced in Assen every year since, bar 2020 when the Covid pandemic cancelled both the WorldSBK Dutch Round and the MotoGP Dutch TT.
Assen’s existing contract with Dorna was due to expire at the end of 2026, but the new deal extends its stay in motorcycle racing’s two biggest asphalt championships into the next decade.
Regarding the Dutch TT, Arjan Bos, Chairman of TT Circuit Assen, said: "We are delighted with this contract extension, especially now that MotoGP is developing strongly. It confirms the status of the TT Assen as one of the highlights on the MotoGP calendar. We are proud to continue to build the future of motorsport together with MotoGP.”
About WorldSBK, he added: “WorldSBK is such an important fixture on our calendar. Because of the constant interaction with the fans, young and old, we can continue to grow our fanbase for motorsport in general. World Superbike always gets a lot of appreciation from riders and public alike. We are very proud to continue as a location for this major event.”
